UGC HRDC launches courses for MMDCs

Aligarh:December:The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, AMU has launched a one-week short-term course for the teachers of the Minorities Managed Degree Colleges (MMDC) in India.
With ‘Data Analysis – SPSS and MINITAB’ as the theme, the course will have theory and practical classes. The outstation participants will also be given educational visits of the AMU campus.

AMU denounces AMUTA’s allegation

ALIGARH:The Aligarh Muslim University has refuted the allegation of the AMU Teachers’ Association (AMUTA) that the University administration’s decision to seek AMUTA members’ consent for deduction towards the Teachers’ Sports Club membership fee every month, is “aimed at curbing the democratically elected body” of AMU teachers. The University has clarified that the Honorary Secretary, AMUTA had himself mentioned earlier that the money collected by the AMUTA members was “private money” and the University had no jurisdiction on that money.

AMU announces winter and summer breaks

AMU School Boys stood fourth in National quiz hosted by Charu Sharma

Aligarh:After winning prestigious top spots in the State-Level and the District-Level quiz competitions, a team of Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University recently won the fourth place in a National-Level quiz competition, ‘School Quiz League’ (SQL) and Edu Ace held at Noida. The event was hosted by renowned quiz master, Mr Charu Sharma.

AMU Proctor’s resignation accepted

ALIGARH:The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah has accepted the resignation of Dr. Mohd. Asif Khan from the post of Proctor, with immediate effect.
The Vice Chancellor has also allowed Dr. Mohd. Israil, Associate Professor, University Polytechnic (Boys) and Deputy Proctor to look after the work of Proctor, in addition to his own duties, with immediate effect, till a new Proctor is appointed.

अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय की हाई स्कूल (वूमेन प्राइवेट) की परीक्षा में शामिल होने के लिए आवेदन जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि 31 दिसम्बर घोषित की गई है। परीक्षा कंट्रोलर प्रोफेसर जावेद अख्तर ने बताया है कि उक्त परीक्षा में शामिल होने वाली महिला अभ्यार्थी अपने परीक्षा फार्म वांछित शुल्क सहित 31 दिसम्बर तक जमा कर सकती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि परीक्षा फार्म www.amucontrollerexams.com से डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि परीक्षा फार्म जमा करने की तिथि में कोई वृद्वि नहीं की जाएगी।

Aligarh:Host Aligarh Muslim University continued its winning spree by capturing the title of the North Zone Inter University Cricket Tournament. In an enthralling competition, AMU beat University of Delhi by 77 runs in the final match.

AMU Drama Club members perform ‘Big B’

Aligarh:Members of the Drama Club, Cultural Education Centre (CEC), Aligarh Muslim University recently performed ‘Big B’, a play based on Munshi Premchand’s short story at the Kennedy Hall Auditorium.
Written by Niti Phool and Dr M Sayeed Alam, ‘Big B’ was directed by Ahmad Omair. AMU students Mozzam Ahmad, Amit Kumar and Umair acted in the play, which had an audience of over a thousand students and academics.

Yogendra Yadav delivers lecture in ‘India as an idea’ series

Aligarh:Renowned activist, Professor Yogendra Yadav today delivered the fourth lecture in the ‘India as an idea’ series on the topic, ‘India 2.0’ at Kennedy Hall Auditorium, Aligarh Muslim University. The University Club for Short Evening Courses (CSEC) of the Cultural Education Centre (CEC) organized the programme.
While delivering the lecture, Prof Yadav said that to understand what is India 2.0, we need to know that it is a dream and we have to reach there from India 1.0.

Dr Sadaf bag third prize at Internatrional Conference

Aligarh:Dr Sadaf Zaidi, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University recently received the third prize for an oral representation of her research paper, ‘SVR Modeling of Convection Dominated Subcooled Boiling Heat Transfer Coefficient in a Vertical Tube Thermosiphon’ at an International Conference on ‘Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering’ held at the Hotel Lalit in Mumbai.

AMU enter finals of North Zone Inter University

Aligarh:Host Aligarh Muslim University reserved a place in the finals by defeating Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra by 100 runs, with Mirza Hashir Beg bagging 5 wickets, in the semi final match of the North Zone Inter University Cricket Tournament played here Thursday at Aligarh Muslim University. In another match HNB, Garhwal beat Alahabad University by 10 wickets to move into the semi finals.
