AMU is organizing a mega international job fair "RecrufestI6"
ALIGARH:Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Training & Placement Office (General) AMU is organizing a mega international job fair "RecrufestI6" for the students of the university on 2nd and 3rd April 2016.
35 reputed MNCs belonging to different sectors like Real Estate, IT, ITES, telecom, Management, Finance and Banking, event management, services, journalism, insurance, education, social work, tourism, etc., are scheduled to participate in the mega event. Such reputed companies as Al-farabi, Faisaljassim, L&T Insurance, Azem Premji Foundation, Marya Day Frozen food, Secura HR Solution, Bhartiya Axa etc are going to participate and select our students.

AMU suspends two employees for illegal money transaction
ALIGARH:The Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University has placed under suspension two employees, Mr. Hafiz Mohd. Umar, MTS (Kitchen Attendant), Nadeem Tarin Hall and Mr. Mohd. Mahshar Alam, LDC (Accounts), Internal Audit Office, pending inquiry, initiating disciplinary proceedings against them. Umar and Mahshar were found involved in a case of illegal money transaction which amounted to gross misconduct.
सर सैयद को भारत रत्न दिलाने को चलेगी मुहिम
अलीगढ़:सर सैयद की पुण्यतिथि के मौके पर सर सैयद एजूकेशनल एंड माइनोरिटी वेलफेयर सोसायटी की ओर से फ्रेंडस कॉलोनी में बैठक की गई। इसमें सर सैयद अहमद को श्रद्धांजलि दी गई। बैठक में फैसला लिया गया है कि सर सैयद के शिक्षा के योगदान के लिए संस्था उनको भारत रत्न दिलाने के लिए मुहिम चलाएगी। संस्था के सचिव मोहम्मद रफीक ने बताया कि शिक्षा के योगदान के लिए सर सैयद को भुलाया नहीं जा सकता। संस्था सर सैयद के नक्शे कदम पर चलकर गरीब बच्चों को पढ़ाने का काम कर रही है और सर सैयद मिशन स्कूल स्थापित कर गरीब बच्चों को शिक्षा दे रही है। इस मौके पर एनुल हक, मोहम्म्द साजिद, सलीम कुरैशी, मोहम्मद तारिक, मुज्जमिल अनवर समेत कई लोग मौजूद थे।

Sir Syed’s 118th death anniversary observed
ALIGARH:The Aligarh Muslim University observed the 118th death anniversary of its founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan today, and paid rich tributes to him through a number of programmes.A Quran recitation session was organized at University Jama Masjid after Fajr prayers. Later, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali laid a floral chadar at Sir Syed’s grave.Dr. Asfar Ali Khan, Registrar, Prof. Anis Ismail, DSW, faculty members, students, non-teaching staff and Imams of different mosques in the University were present in the programme.Sir Syed was born on October 17, 1817 in Delhi and left for heavenly abode on March 27, 1898 at Aligarh.

अलीगढ़:एएमयू स्टूडैन्ट्स एक्शन कमैटी द्वारा अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के अल्पसंख्यक स्वरूप की बहाली पर राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी को सम्बोधित करते हुए पूर्व केन्द्रीय कानून मंत्री और कर्नाटक व केरल के पूर्व राज्यपाल डाॅ. हंसराज भारद्वाज ने कहा कि भारतीय संविधान ने अल्पसंख्यकों के शैक्षिक और सांस्कृतिक उत्थान के लिये विशेष कानूनी दर्जा दिया है और यह संस्था अपनी स्थापना से ही एक अल्पसंख्यक शिक्षण संस्था रही है।

सरसैयद हवेली एएमयू को सोंपने की दिल्ली सरकार से हुई गुजारिश
अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के एक तीन सदस्यीय दल ने गत दिवस दिल्ली वक्फ बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष अमानत उल्लाह खाॅ से भैंट कर पुरानी दिल्ली में दरियागंज स्थित सरसैयद की पुश्तैनी हवेली को संरक्षित करने और वहाॅ सर सैयद संग्राहलय बनाने के साथ ही कनाॅट पैलैस स्थित ब्लाक बी0 में 28 सितम्बर 1945 को हामिद अली खाॅ द्वारा वक्फ समिति को अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय को दिये जाने पर विस्तार से चर्चा करते हुए उक्त मामलों में दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा प्रभावी कदम उठाने का आग्रह किया।
ज्ञात रहे कि हाल ही में अमुवि के कुलपति लेफटीनैंट जनरल जमीर उद्दीन शाह (सेवानिवृत) और सहकुलपति ब्रिगेडियर एस0 अहमद अली (सेवानिवृत) ने दिल्ली के मुख्य मंत्री अरविन्द केजरीवाल से 18 मार्च को भैंट कर अमुवि के लिये उपयुक्त इमारत उपलब्ध कराने के साथ सर सैयद की हवेली में संग्रहालय स्थापित करने और कैनाॅट पैलेस स्थित वक्फ सम्पत्ति को विश्वविद्यालय को प्रदान करने का आग्रह किया था जिस पर मुख्यमंत्री ने वक्फ बोर्ड को कार्यवाही करने का निर्देश दिया था।
अमुवि के इस प्रतिनिधिमंडल में प्रोपर्टी विभाग के चीफ सिक्योरिटी आफीसर मेजर अरकम खाॅ, प्रोपर्टी आफीसर आरिफ और जनसंपर्क विभाग के सलाहकार डा0 राहत अबरार ने सबसे पहले सर सैयद की पुश्तैनी हवेली को देखा और इस हवेली में रह रहे लोगों से भी बात चीत की।
सर सैयद जिस स्थान पर रहते थे उसको दिल्ली सरकार ने सर सैयद रोड घोषित कर रखा है। सर सैयद की दोसोवीं जन्मशती के अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय का प्रयास है कि इस हवेली को संरक्षित कर संग्रहालय में परिवर्तित कर दिया जाय।
बाद में इस तीन सदस्यीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने वक्फ बोर्ड कार्यालय में दिल्ली के वक्फ बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष अमानत उल्लाह खाॅ, लक्ष्मी नगर के विधायक नितिन त्यागी और वक्फ बोर्ड के चीफ एकजीक्यूटिव आफीसर एस0एम0 अली और वक्फ बोर्ड के सदस्य चैधरी शरीफ अहमद से भी भैंट की। वक्फ बोर्ड ने भरोसा दिलाया है कि वह वक्फ बोर्ड की सम्पत्ति का सर्वे कराकर प्रयास करेंगे कि वह भूमि विश्वविद्यालय को मिल सके।

Tibbiya College hosts second All India Quiz Competition

World TB Day celebrations start at JN Medical College
Aligarh:As part of the week long celebrations of World TB Day, the Pulmonology and ID Clinic of the Department of Pediatrics, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University today organized free check up camp for children. In the camp Professor Farzana K Baig, along with her team members, conducted free health checkups of children and also distributed free of cost drugs to them.

AMU EC to recommend panel of new VC on April 2

ALIGARH:A special meeting of the Executive Council of the Aligarh Muslim University today decided to adopt the past procedure for appointment of the new Vice Chancellor.
The Executive Council has unanimously decided to hold its Special Meeting on April 2, 2016 to recommend a panel of five persons to the University Court. The special meeting of the University Court to further finalize a panel of three persons, has been scheduled on April 7, 2016, as per the statutes of the University.
It was also resolved at the meeting that the scheduled meeting of the University Court on April 16, 2016 stands cancelled.

5 MSc students placed at ‘Azim Premji Foundation’
Aligarh:Five students of M Sc, Department of Physics, Aligarh Muslim University have been selected by India’s leading ‘Azim Premji Foundation’ in a Campus Placement Drive recently held at AMU.
Professor M Afzal Ansari, Chairperson, Department of Physics, AMU informed that Nahid Wasim, Alok Singh, Nayan Mandal, Mehroosh Fatima and Sheetal Goswami found their way through the competitive selection procedure of ‘Azim Premji Foundation’ and have secured placements on respectable posts.
Professor Ansari said that the success of the students reflects their hard work as well as the favorable support offered by their teachers.

अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी के जवाहर लाल नेहरू मेडीकल काॅलेज के प्लास्टिक सर्जरी विभाग द्वारा कटे होंट व कटे तालू के उपचार के प्रति लोगों में जागरूकता पैदा करने के उद्देश्य से विभिन्न स्थानों पर सप्ताह भर का जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। सर्जरी विभाग में यह कार्यक्रम अमेरिकन संस्था स्माईल ट्रेन के सहयोग से चलाया जा रहा है।

Training on Sustainable Development of Ground Water start at AMU

Aligarh:The Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with Central Ground Water Board, Northern Region, Lucknow, started a five day TIER-II training program on “Sustainable Development and Management of Ground Water Resources” here today.
While presiding over the inaugural function, AMU Vice Chancellor Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Retd) emphasized that there is dire need of conservation and management of water, the scarcity of which is expected to worsen in India as the overall population is expected to increase to 1.6 billion by the year 2050. He also informed about the ongoing waste water recycling and reusing Program in AMU Campus.
Brig S Ahmad Ali (Retd), Pro Vice Chancellor, AMU, while highlighting the groundwater situation in India, pointed out that overexploitation of aquifers is a crucial issue. He said that overexploitation has taken place at a higher pace in the fertile area of Ganga plain, including that of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Brig Ali also focused on the changes that occurred in Rajasthan after Commissioning of Indra Gandhi Canal. He stressed on the need for effective management and conservation of groundwater.
Dr YB Kaushik, Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, Northern Region, Lucknow emphasized on the importance of Ground Water and said that Water is the basis of all life forms, whether human, animal or plants. He informed that it is fundamental for sustaining human life, the ecological balance and for the very future of our planet. Dr Kaushik also appraised about the five day training program.
Mr E Sampat Kumar, Member, Central Ground Water Board briefed about the activities of Central Ground Water Board and also offered sharing of data with the researchers of the University.
Professor Liaqat A K Rao, Chairperson, Department of Geology, while welcoming the guests, said that according to the available data, children in 100 million homes in the country lack water, and one out of every two children are malnourished. He called for the restoration of environmental justice to India so that families can raise their children with dignity. Professor Rao told that providing water to communities is one such way to best ensure that chance.
Dr Rashid Umar conducted the program whereas Dr M Nasir Khan proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Siraj Khan, Scientist, Central Ground Water Board Coordinated the Program.
Thirty Five Participants, including Faculty Members, Research Scholars, M Tech students as well as Engineers from UP Jal Nigam have registered for the Program.

AMU Zoology scholar receives best Oral-Presentation award
Aligarh:Mr Salman Khan, Research Scholar, Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University recently received the best ‘Oral-Presentation’ award for his paper, ‘Comparison between whole and sectioned otoliths for precise age estimation in striped snakehead, Channa striata (Bloch, 1793), collected from the river Ganga’ at a National Seminar on Biodiversity and Renewable Energy organized by Baba Sahab Dr B R Ambedkar, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Etawah. Mr Khan is working on his PhD under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr M Afzal Khan, who is in the Section of Fishery Science and Aquaculture, Department of Zoology, AMU.

JNMCH releases ‘Grey Matter’
Aligarh:Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH) recently released ‘Grey Matter’, the Annual College and Hospital Magazine of JNMCH.
Dr Fatima Khan, MBBS Intern and Editor of ‘Grey Matter’, hosted the function presided by Nawab Ibn e Saeed Khan of Chattari, Honourable Pro Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University.Mr Govind Agarwal, DIG, Aligarh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The DIG shared his experience in Aligarh and Uttar Pradesh. He praised the Medical faculty and students saying they were undoubtedly one of the best in the State. He especially mentioned the efficient Emergency of JNMCH and said he was proud to be present in the august company of Nawab sahab and such outstanding achievers and all rounders.Prof Tariq Mansoor, Principal and Chief Medical Superintendent delivered the welcome address.Prof Jamal Ahmad, Dean - Faculty of Medicine, spoke about the medical students who have shown their brilliance in many extra curricular activities apart from academics.
Dr Fatima Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, spoke about the importance of the college magazine in the current scenario.
On the same occasion, Prof Abida Malik, Prof Indu Shukla, Dr Haris Khan, Dr Meher Rizvi along with the guests on the dias unveiled the inaugural newsletter of the Hospital Infection Society India, Aligarh Chapter.The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks by Mr Zulquarnain and Ms Nida Khan, Joint Editors of Grey Matter.

‘National Science Day-2016’ celebrated at AMU

Fellowship claims to be routed through DSW
ALIGARH:Prof. S. M. Jawed Akhtar, Officiating Finance Officer of the Aligarh Muslim University, through a circular sent to all Deans of Faculties, has urged them to send recommendations on prescribed proforma for the award of Non-NET UGC scholarship to newly admitted M.Phil. and PhD scholars of their respective faculties through the office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare. The circular further made it clear that the DSW will obtain approval of the Vice Chancellor for sanction of the scholarship and the approval will further be communicated by the DSW to the concerned Dean for issuing the sanction letter.
The circular stressed that the claims of the scholars who have already been awarded the above fellowship, may also be sent for payment in the prescribed format.

CEC concludes AMU Literary Festival 2.0
Aligarh:Aligarh Muslim University Debating and Literary Club, Cultural Education Centre (CEC) today concluded the AMU Literary Festival 2.0 with a valedictory function after a workshop and two panel discussions. In the workshop on creative writing, Ms Mariam Kareem Ahlawat talked about the coming out of inner rhythm, when people write in their mother tongues.

AMU delegation, led by VC, meets PM Shri Narendra Modi
ALIGARH:A five-member delegation of Aligarh Muslim University, led by the Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Retd.), today called on the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi and submitted a memorandum to him. The meeting ran for about 40 minutes and the Prime Minister assured the University delegation of positive consideration. Other members of the delegation included Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali, Mrs Sabiha Simi Shah, Maj. Gen. G.G. Dwivedi, Chairman, Department of Foreign Languages and Dr. Jasim Mohammad, Secretary Millat Bedari Muhim Committee.

JNMCH to observe ‘World Kidney Day’ with free consultation camp
Aligarh: To observe the ‘World Kidney Day’, the Pediatric Nephrology Division, Department of Pediatrics, J N Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH) will organize a camp for free consultation and screening of children with kidney diseases on March 9, 2016. The theme of this year is ‘Kidney Disease in Children: Act Early to Prevent it.’

अलीगढ़:अमुवि के स्थापित केन्द्र गैर कानूनी है या कानूनी, इस बात पर अमुवि व केन्द्रीय मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री में टकराव जारी है । आज अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति लेफ्टिीनैन्ट जनरल जमीर उद्दीन शाह (सेवानिवृत) ने इस मामले में खेद व्यक्त किया है कि प्रेस और सोशल मीडिया में अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के केन्द्रों से सम्बन्धित केन्द्रीय मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री के साथ मीटिंग की खबर को अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय को बदनाम करने और एक नये विवाद के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया जा रहा है। वह भी ऐसे समय में जब विश्वविद्यालय अपने अल्पसंख्यक स्वरूप को बचाने और देश के अन्य विश्वविालयों में अपने दूसरे स्थान को और बेहतर बनाने के लिये प्रयासरत है।

Dr Shraddha Rathi awarded DHR Fellowship-2016
Aligarh: Dr Shraddha Rathi, Assistant Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics and Dental Material, Dr ZA Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded with DHR Fellowship-2016 by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi at the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi.
