AMU’s 63rd Annual Convocation slated for February 27

ALIGARH:The Aligarh Muslim University has decided to hold its Annual Convocation on February 27, 2016 at the Gulistan-e-Syed of the University.A consultative meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali to finalize the arrangement for the 63rd Annual Convocation.
AMU has decided to award D. Lit., honoris causa, to Dr. Frank Islam, a US based philanthropist and entrepreneur.

अलीगढ़। अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी में 27 फरवरी को वार्षिक दीक्षान्त समारोह का आयोजन पहली बार पहली बार गुलिस्तान-ए-सैय्यद में आयोजित किया जायेगा और यदि मौसम खराब हो जाता है तो ऐसी स्थिति में कैनेडी हाल में सम्पन्न होगा।

AMU professor to head Indian Library Association

ALIGARH:Prof. Shabahat Husain, former Dean, Faculty of Social Science and presently Chairman, Department of Library and Information Science, has been elected unopposed as the President of Indian Library Association (ILA), which is a national body to take care of the interests of the Libraries and Librarians in India.

एएमयू के जे.एन. मेडिकल काॅलेज पर रहेगी खुफिया कैमरों की नज़र

अलीगढ़। अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी के जवाहर लाल नेहरू मेडीकल काॅलेज में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को चाकचैबंद और मजबूत बनाये जाने की दृष्टि से 96 सीसीटीवी केमरे लगाये गए हैं।
प्रिन्सिपल एवं सीएमएस जवाहर लाल नेहरू मेडीकल काॅलेज प्रो. तारिक मंसूर ने बताया कि सीसीटीवी कैमरे लगने से जहाॅ हास्पिटल में असामाजिक तत्वों पर नज़र रखने में मदद मिलेगी वहीं चिकित्सकों के साथ होने वाली किसी भी प्रकार की अप्रिय घटनाओं पर भी पैनी नज़र रखी जा सकेगी। उन्होंने बताया कि पूर्व में यह कैमरे कैजुअल्टी में गलाये गये थे लेकिन अब इनका विस्तार हास्प्टिल के समस्त वार्ड परिसर में भी कर दिया गया है। यह खुफिया कैमरे 24 घंटे कार्यरत रहेंगे और नियंत्रण कक्ष के माध्यम से हास्प्टिल परिसर में होने वाली समस्त गतिविधियों पर नज़र रखी जा सकेगी। उन्होंने हास्पिटल परिसर में कानून व्यवस्था में सहयोग के लिए सभी से सहयोग का आग्रह किया है।

AMU organises ‘Eco Fox Run 2016’

Aligarh:In an all-inclusive awareness event for a 'Green and Clean AMU', the Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd) recently flagged off the ‘Eco Fox Run 2016’.    
Organized by the University Eco Club (UEC), the unique parade was lead by horse riders from the AMU Riding Club while children, students, research scholars, faculty members and the general public, including differently abled, joined in large numbers to walk, skate and cycle from Strachey Hall to Cultural Education Centre.

MD, MS, PG Diploma तथा MDS प्रवेश परीक्षा शांति पूर्ण संपन्न

अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी की एमडी, एमएस, पीजी डिप्लोमा तथा एमडीएस की प्रवेश परीक्षा आज शांति पूर्ण माहौल में संपन्न हो गयी।
इस प्रवेश परीक्षा में 363 अभ्यार्थी शामिल हुए। एमडीएस में 45 तथा एमडी, एमएस और पीजी डिप्लोमा की प्रवेश परीक्षा में 318 अभ्यार्थी शामिल हुए। यह परीक्षा यूनीवर्सिटी पाॅलीटैक्निक में बने परीक्षा केन्द्र पर दोपहर 3 बजे से सायं साढ़े पाॅच बजे तक संपन्न हुई।
इस प्रवेश परीक्षा को संपन्न कराने के लिये पर्यवेक्षक के रूप में प्रो. तारिक मंसूर, प्रो. एमएच बेग, प्रो. खालिद शेरवानी और प्रो. नजम खलीक मौजूद थे। मेडीसन संकाय के डीन प्रो. जमाल अहमद ने भी परीक्षा केन्द्र का दौरा किया

Prof Jamal, the new Dean, Faculty of Medicine

Aligarh:Professor Jamal Ahmad, Rajiv Gandhi Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, JN Medical College has been appointed as Dean, Faculty of Medicine, JNMC till 30 July, 2016 in place of Professor (Mrs) Shahjahan Bano.
Professor Ahmad, the former Director of Rajiv Gandhi Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, is a member of various prestigious professional bodies. He has attended several national and international conferences and has published research papers in numerous national and international journals.

AMU Research Scholar discuss deadly fevers in light of Vedas

Aligarh:Tahasin Mondal, a Research Scholar at the Department of Sanskrit, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded the Certificate of Outstanding Research Paper at the 19th India Conference of Wider Association for Vedic Studies (WAVES) held at Delhi Sanskrit Academy. The certificate was awarded for his research paper titled ‘Malaria, Dengue and other associated fevers in the light of Atharva Veda- A study in medicine’, which he presented at the Conference.

ADR Monitoring Centre issues Alert notice

Aligarh:The ADR Monitoring Centre, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University has recently issued a notice against the intra-vitrieal use of Avastin (Bevacizumab injection) 100mg/4ml, 400mg/16ml vials in the treatment of eye disease. The notice states that the use of the drug is leading to loss of vision.

ABK School girl student selected for National Taekwondo Championship

अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व कार्यकारी कुलपति एवं कानून संकाय में डाॅ॰ अम्बेडकर चेयर के पूर्व अध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर (सेवानिवृत) मोहम्मद शब्बीर को इन्टरनेशनल इन्सटिच्युट आॅफ एजूकेशन एण्ड मैनेजमेण्ट द्वारा बेस्ट एजूकेशनिस्ट एवार्ड से 5 फरवरी 2016 को नई दिल्ली मे सम्मानित किया जायेगा।
विदित हो प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद शब्बीर अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय मे डाॅ॰ अम्बेडकर चेयर के 1992 से 2014 तक अध्यक्ष रह चुके है। अमुवि के अलावा वे इन्टरनेशनल इस्लामिक यूनीवर्सिटी मलेशिया के कानून संकाय मे कोर्स को-आॅर्डीनेटर के रूप मे भी अपनी सेवायें दे चुके है। उन्होंने अपने शैक्षिक कार्यकाल मे बड़ी संख्या मे शोध कार्य सम्पन्न कराये।
प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद शब्बीर कानून के क्षेत्र मे एक वरिष्ठ लेखक भी हैं और उनकी 8 पुस्तके प्रकाशित हो चुकी है,जिनमंे मुस्लिम पर्सनल लाॅ एण्ड जुडीशियरी, पारसी पर्सनल लाॅ, डाॅ॰ बी॰आर॰ अम्बेडकरः ए स्टैडी इन लाॅ एण्ड सोसाईटी, सोशल जस्टिस, आउटलाईन्स आॅफ क्रीमिनल लाॅ एण्ड जस्टिस इन इस्लाम तथा हयूमन राईट इन 21वीं सेन्चुरी प्रमुख हैं। वे अमुवि के अम्बेडकर चेयर द्वारा प्रकाशित क्वेस्ट फाॅर जस्टिस जनरल के सम्पादक और पर्सनल लाॅ जर्रनल के संयुक्त सम्पादक भी रह चुके है। इसके अलावा उनके 70 से अधिक शोध आलेख भी प्रकाशित हो चुके है। वे 40 राष्ट्रीय एवं अन्तर्राष्टीय शैक्षिक संगठनों और संस्थाओ से जुड़े रहे। इसके अलावा वे 7 पब्लिक सर्विस कमीशनों मे भी सदस्य रहे। उन्होंने 80 राष्ट्रीय एवं अन्तराष्ट्रीय सेमीनारो मे अपने शोध पत्र प्रस्तुत किए।
इससे पूर्व भी प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद शब्बीर को अनेक पुरस्कारो से सम्मानित किया जा चुका है, जिनमें शिक्षा रतन पुरस्कार, राजीव गान्धी एगौलेन्स एर्वाड आॅफ इन्टरनेशनल काउन्सिल आॅफ ज्यूरिस्ट द्वारा स्क्रोल आॅनर एवं दुबई का इन्टरनेशनल गोल्ड स्टार एवार्ड सम्मिलित है।

CARET’s website launched

ALIGARH:The Pro-Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali launched the website of Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET). He appreciated the efforts of Dr M Saad Alam, Coordinator, CARET, Dr Yasser Rafat, Co-coordinator and other students associated with the centre. He urged the students to adopt the principle “Earn while you learn”.

मंगलायतन व एएमयू की 60.63 लाख रुपये की परियोजना को मिली मंजूरी

( चमन शर्मा )अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय और मंगलायतन विश्वविद्यालय की 60.63 लाख रुपये की एक संयुक्त महत्वकांक्षी परियोजना को भारत सरकार के विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय ने मंजूरी दे दी है। इस परियोजना में रिह्यूमेटिक फीवर और हार्ट डिजीज की पहचान के लिए सस्ती और आसानी से प्रयोग की जाने वाली डायग्नोस्टिक किट बनाई जाएगी जिससे देश के लाखों गरीब मरीजों को बड़ी राहत मिलेगी।

AMU B Tech student scores 98.89 percentile in CAT

Aligarh:Areeb Abdur Rahman, a student of B. Tech. (Electronics Engineering) at the ZH College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University has scored 98.89 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT). Areeb achieved this feat in his first attempt.

AMU Polytechnic students excel at UTKARSH 2016

Aligarh:The students of the University Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University won several prizes in UTKARSH 2016 (Inter-Polytechnic Sports Meet) organized by University Polytechnic, GLA University. The Meet was held at the GLA University Campus, Mathura, which included events of Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Chess, Badminton, Football and Table Tennis.AMU Polytechnic team won Gold medals in Table Tennis, Basket Ball, Chess and Foot Ball while winning silver medals in Volley Ball and Badminton. The AMU Polytechnic Cricket team reached the semi-finals in the Cricket event.Meanwhile, AMU’s Mr Arbaz Khan bagged the best player award for his performance in the Basket Ball event.

अलीगढ़:अखिल भारतीय फारसी शिक्षक संघ का 34वी वार्षिक संगोष्ठी फारसी विभाग पटना विश्वविद्यालय के सहयोग से आयोजित की गई। संगोष्ठी के उदघाटन समारोह में अखिल भारतीय फारसी शिक्षक संघ की अध्यक्ष प्रो0 सफ़वी ने अपना अध्यक्षीय भाषण प्रस्तुत किया। प्रो0 सफवी फारसी शिक्षक संघ की विगत 20 वर्षों से अध्यक्ष हैं और वह इस उत्तरदायित्व को भलीभांति पूरा कर रही हैं। उन्होंने अपने अध्यक्षीय भाषण में भारत में फारसी भाषा का महत्व और मुख्यतः बिहार के विद्धानों, कवियों और दरगाहों की फारसी सेवाओं पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने कहा कि फारसी भाषा हमारी प्राचीन धरोहर है और इसे विदेशी भाषा कह कर अस्वीकार नहीं किया जा सकता।

Aligarh:Dr Inamuddin, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University recently delivered an invited talk in the Physical Chemistry Sections of ‘34th Annual Conference of Indian Council of Chemist’ held at the Department of Chemistry, UKS Tarsadia University, Bardoli, Surat. His lecture was on the topic of, ‘Applications of Ionomer as Smart Material.

Prof Wamiq appointed Dean

Aligarh:Professor Malik Mohd. Wamiq Amin, Department of Ilmul Amraz, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed as Dean of the faculty for a period of two years in place of Professor Naeem Ahmad Khan.
Professor Wamiq is the former director, National Institute of Unani Medicine, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India. He has been awarded with prestigious WHO fellowship.
