First online interviews conducted for SSESA Award ’15

ALIGARH:The Training and placement Office (General), Aligarh Muslim University conducted a written test and interview for Sir Syed Excellence in Science Awards (SSESA) 2015. The shortlisted candidates participated in the written test which followed online interview through Skype conducted by AMU alumni from various parts of the United States.


Training and Placement Officer, Mr. Saad Hameed said that for the first time in the history of AMU, such an arrangement for online interviews was made and the applicants connected directly with alumni located in different parts of the United States.

SSESA is mentorship cum scholarship programme offered by Aligarh Alumni Association of New England (AAANE), a Boston based alumni association engaged in guiding students and providing support for higher studies abroad.

Mr. Hameed said that the students selected for SSESA Award 2015 include Safia Ahmad (Architectural Engineering), Arpit Upadhyay (Mechanical Engineering), Huma Khan (Chemistry), Sameera Suhail (Electronics Engineering), Mohd. Umair Jamal (Civil Engineering), Mohd. Atif Aleem (Chemical Engineering), Taha Sheikh (Mechanical Engineering), Dilnashin Anwar (Electronics Engineering), Aqib Ehtaram (Biotechnology), Adil Zafar Ansari (Computer Engineering), Anchal Varshney (Mechanical Engineering) and Sayeeda Aasia Aijaz Tirmizi (Electronics Engineering).

Professor Mujeeb Ansari, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and Mr. Saad Hameed, TPO (General) were coordinators for the written test and interviews. Sameerah Desnavi, Ghazala Arshad and Mariam Viqar also extended help and assistance in organizing written test and documents verification.
