AMU hostels to remain closed till 29 July

Aligarh:The Aligarh Muslim University Halls of residences will remain closed till July 29 for re-location of accommodation and urgent repair work of hostels.  The opening date has been extended as a large number of rooms were found locked in hostels after the students vacated for vacations.

अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के सीनियर सेकेण्ड्री स्कूल सर्टीफिकेट पार्ट प्रथम (कक्षा ग्यारह) की शिक्षा सत्र 2015-2016 की परीक्षा में शामिल होने वाले प्राइवेट रिपीटर एएमयू के नान टीचिंग इम्पलाई व महिला अभ्यर्थी तथा एक्स स्टूडैन्ट अपने परीक्षा फार्म 11 जुलाई तक जमा कर सकते हैं ।परीक्षा कंट्रोलर प्रोफेसर जावेद अख्तर ने बताया है कि प्राइवेट रिपीटर अभ्यार्थी एवं एक्स स्टूडैन्ट जो एसएसएससी पार्ट प्रथम (कक्षा ग्यारह) की वर्तमान शिक्षा सत्र 2015-16 की परीक्षा में शामिल होना चाहते हैं। वह  www.amucontrollersexams.com से फार्म डाउनलोड कर 11 जुलाई तक जमा कर सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उक्त तिथि समाप्त होने के बाद कोई भी आवेदन स्वीकार नहीं किया जाएगा।

Prof Iqbal nominated as Fulbright Scholar for the second time

Aligarh: Professor Badar Alam Iqbal, Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University has reached a unique academic milestone after his nomination as Fulbright SIR Awardee for 2016-17 to teach MBA in Fall and Spring Semesters at Kentucky State University, Frankfurt, USA by The Fulbright Commission, Washington. Professor Iqbal has been selected for the second time for this award.

Dr. Rahat Abrar to continue heading PR Office

Prof Naqvi appointed as Adjunct Faculty

Aligarh:Prof S Alim Husain Naqvi, Principal Co-ordinator, Centre of Excellence in Materials Sciences (Nanomaterial), Department of Applied Physics has been appointed as an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Applied Physics. The AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd) has approved Prof Naqvi’s empanelment on an Expert Committee recommendation.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस... योग की विरासत को संभालने का सबने लिया संकल्प

अलीगढ़ :इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय के क्षेत्रीय केन्द्र पर द्वितीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर योग प्रशिक्षककर्नल (सेवानिवृत्त) जगरूप सिंह ने सभी अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों को योग का महत्व बताया एवं विभिन्न योगासनों को कर के उनसे होने वाले लाभ के बारे में विस्तार पूर्वक बताया। कर्नलजगरूप सिंह ने बताया कि आज की भाग दौड़ भरी जिंदगी में तनाव से मुक्ति हेतु तथा विभिन्न प्रकार के रोगो के निदान हेतु योग करना अत्यंत आवश्यक है। अब योग लोगों की दिनचर्या का अभिन्नअंग बन गया है। क्षेत्रीय निदेशक, डाॅं0 अमित चतुर्वेदी के द्वारा इग्नू क्षेत्रीय केन्द्र के सभी अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों को योग के द्वारा अपने जीवन में परिवर्तन लाने का आह्वान किया गया। डाॅ0 चतुर्वेदी ने कहा कि आधुनिक खान-पान ने अनेक बीमारियों को बढ़ावा दिया है। ऐसे में रोगों को दूर करने का एक मात्र उपाय है योग करना। योग से मन को शांत रखने में मदद मिलती है तथा योग के द्वारा हम अपने कार्य को और बेहतर ढंग से कर सकते हैं। योग केवल योग दिवस तक ही सीमित न रह जाये, योग को आदत में अपना कर हमें रोजाना योगाभ्यास करना चाहिये। इस अवसर पर डाॅ0 गिर्राज किशोर पूर्व डीन, आगरा विश्वविद्यालय, आगरा तथा डाॅ0 गोविंद कुमार इग्नू समन्वयक, आईआईएमटी अलीगढ़, सहायक क्षेत्रीय निदेशक डाॅ0 भा़नुप्रताप, डाॅ0 खुशनुदा नीलोफर, डाॅ0 एम. आर. फैसल एवं क्षेत्रीय केन्द्र के समस्त कर्मचारी गण उपस्थित रहे।

Dr. Rahat Abrar joins as Director, Urdu Academy

ALIGARH:The Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University has appointed Dr. Rahat Abrar as the Director, Urdu Academy, on the recommendation of a General Selection Committee held recently.Dr. Rahat Abrar has been associated with the Public Relations Office for more than thirty years and was reappointed by the Vice Chancellor as Consultant, Public Relations for a period of six months.A scholar of distinction, Dr. Abrar has several books to his credit and holds special place amongst the people who have rendered distinguished services for the promotion of Urdu language.

अलीगढ़:अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के एमएम हाल की मस्जिद में तरावीह के दौरान खत्म-ए-कुरान के अवसर पर उपस्थितजनों को सम्बोधित करते हुए पूर्व नाजिम-ए-दीनियात डाॅ. मुफ्ती जाहिद अली खाॅन ने कहा कि कुरान अल्लाह की वह पुस्तक है जो मानवता के लिये केवल मार्गदर्शक ही नहीं बल्कि जीवन के तमाम क्षेत्रों और समस्याओं का बेहतरीन हल प्रस्तुत करती है।
उन्होंने कहा कि कुरान की शिक्षा आपसी भाईचारे शांति देशभक्ति और प्रेम पर आधारित है और तमाम समुदायों को एकजुट होकर शांति बनाये रखने का संदेश देती है। उन्होंने कहा कि कुरान की सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी स्वयं अल्लाह ने ली है और यही कारण है कि अभी तक जितनी पुस्तकें आसमान से उतरी उन सब में बड़े स्तर पर संशोधन हुए परन्तु कुरान आज तक ज्यों का त्यों हमारे सामने मौजूद है। उन्होंने रोजे के सम्बन्ध में कहा कि रोजा दूसरों की समस्याओं को समझने का अवसर प्रदान करता है इसके अतिरिक्त रमजान के महीने में जकात का विशेष रूप से आदेश दिया गया है ताकि दीन दुखियारों दुखयारों की बड़े स्तर पर सहायता हो सके।
एमएम हाल की मस्जिद के इमाम और खतीब हाफिज कारी मुजीब उर रहमान ने तरावीह में कुरान को मुकम्मल कराया। इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्याय के विभिन्न हालों के छात्र, अध्यापक तथा गणमान्य व्यक्ति भी मौजूद थे।

AMU students attend World Cosplay Summit, win championship

ALIGARH:Shahnila Usmani, a PhD scholar in the Department of Zoology and Okash Usmani, a student of MFC, Aligarh Muslim University participated in World Cosplay Summit 2016 at University of Mumbai and were declared winners by Japanese judges Akira Konomi and Tokumaru Oguri, President of WCS.

AMU faculty delivers talk at Michigan University

ALIGARH:Dr. M. Saad Alam, Coordinator, Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET), Aligarh Muslim University, delivered a talk on "Cloud-aware Transport Oriented Cities (TOC)" at the University of Michigan, USA.  In his talk, besides focusing on his topic, Dr. Alam urged for collaborative research between AMU and the University of Michigan.Dr. Alam also met with scientists from Hyundai R&D team to expedite the ongoing collaborative research on wireless charging of Electric Vehicles.

Retired Judge appointed as Inquiry Officer

ALIGARH:The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University has appointed Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza, Retired Judge, Allahabad High Court as Inquiry officer to conduct a Judicial Enquiry into the incident of rioting, arson and firing occurred in the University Campus in the intervening night of 23-24 April, 2016 by a group of students in collusion with some expelled students and criminals.

Aligarh: Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Aligarh Muslim University has uploaded the list of university medal holders since 1961 to 2016. ‘Character Certificate’ application form, now available online

Aligarh:The application for getting ‘Character Certificate’ issued in Aligarh Muslim University can now be downloaded from AMU Website, amu.ac.in on the page of Dean Students Welfare.Online availability of the form was announced in a recently issued notice by Professor Anis Ismail, Dean Students Welfare and Chief Vigilance Officer. Prof Ismail further informed that hard copies of forms will no longer be available at the DSW Office.

Dr Salati delivers lecture during CDE Programme

Prof Iqbal shares dais with Prof Gandhi

Aligarh:Prof Badar Alam Iqbal, Department of Commerce and former officiating Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University recently shared a dais with Professor Rajmohan Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi at a South-Asia workshop at Sun Tan-Sen University of China, Guanzhou.During the workshop, Prof Iqbal spoke on Indo-China Economic Relations while Prof Gandhi spoke on International Relations.Prof Iqbal is a former Fulbright Visiting Professor, USA; Former Ford Foundation Grantee, USA and Visiting Emeritus Professor CBA (IUBAT).

Donated jewelries put in Library Museum

ALIGARH:The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah today handed over the jewelry donated by Dr. Afshan Hashmi, a US based AMU alumna, and a set of two golden bangles donated by Mrs. Saba Naqvi, a UAE based alumna, to Dr. Nabi Hasan, AMU Librarian for keeping these valuable jewelry in safe custody of the Library Museum. The Vice Chancellor made it clear that these jewelries will be displayed at the Musa Dakri Museum later on.

AMU VC urges DM to remove illegal structure from University land

ALIGARH:The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, visited the University land, located in Bhamola, where efforts of the University Property Department to construct a boundary wall yesterday had sparked tension after protests by some local residents, who levelled baseless allegations on the University team. Prof. Abrar Mustafa Khan Conference Hall inaugurated

ALIGARH : The Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah yesterday inaugurated Prof. Abrar Mustafa Khan Conference Hall at the Department of Botany. Prof. Abrar Mustafa Khan served the University for more than 36 years and was appointed as Emeritus Professor in the year 1982. He passed away in the year 2004.
