Orientation Program 142 conclude at UGC HRD Center

Aligarh:The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University organized the Valedictory function of the Orientation Programme 142.
The Chief Guest of the valedictory programme Dr. Nabi Hasan, University Librarian, while addressing the participants, said that the courses run by UGC HRD Centre greatly contributes to the overall development of a teacher in a Higher education Institution. He also promised to extend, for the professional progress of the teachers, the various facilities available at the Maulana Azad Library like the e-resources and plagiarism check softwares.

Professor Wazahat Hussain, Former Dean, Faculty of Life Science, AMU and the Guest of Honour on the occasion, donated a pictorial chart on the Flowers of the World, procured from the Kew Garden, UK in 1980. He said that the educational material has found its right place at the UGC HRDC, AMU as the courses offered by the institution have the sensitization on biodiversity conservation as a vital component.

Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC HRD Center congratulated the participants for the completion of the course in such inclement weather while observing the fasts of the holy month of Ramzaan. He said that the home visits, cultural and literary evenings and other educational visits would go a long way in helping them mentor their students as future citizens of a great country.

Dr Faiza Abbasi, Asst Professor, UGC HRD Center, while conducting the programme, said that eminent resource persons had engaged sessions in the course and the participants were eager to learn in the free and optional language classes that were held in the evening to develop basic proficiency in English, Hindi and Urdu. In the current programme Arabic language classes were also arranged on special request, Dr Abbasi added.

Giving their feedback opinion Ms Asma Khan and Mr Zeeshan Raza Khan, Integral University expressed satisfaction at the completion of the course. On this occasion the HRDC also felicitated the special services of Dr. Aqeel Ahmad, Director, Academic Staff College, Integral University, Lucknow in leading a contingent of 48 participants from the same to this course.

Prizes were given for taking maximum books from the library to Dr Mohd Usman Khan, Dr Kuldeep Singh, Dr Saba Khalid, Dr Nudrat Fatima, Dr Ayan Mustafa Khan, Dr Imranullah and Dr Faiza Mohd, Integral University and Dr Aparna, Govt. PG College, Noida.

The programme ended with the presentation of a souvenir to the Director, UGC HRD Center through a voluntary contribution of the participants. 59 participants from Aligarh, Dibrugarh, Lucknow, Noida and Hyderabad had enrolled for this four weeks programme.
