Computer training workshop for AMU teachers

Aligarh:“Teachers are the nation builders, they need to be versatile and conversant with the latest technology” said Brig S Ahmad Ali (Retd.), Officiating Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University while inaugurating a 21 days Computer Training Workshop for AMU School Teachers at Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), AMU.
Brig Ali said that teachers are the custodians of knowledge and are responsible for its proper dissemination. He further said that constant training programme in computers for teachers will promote a sense of professionalism in them. In his key note address, Brig Ali appreciated the efforts of Prof Abid Ali Khan, Coordinator and Major S M Mustafa, Principal, Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys) for organizing the first ever computer training workshop for School Teachers.

Prof Mohd Gulrez, Director, Directorate of School Education, AMU, in his welcome address, pointed out that the workshop will be equivalent to 21 days teacher orientation programme for School Teachers and will help them in their departmental promotion.

Maj SM Mustafa, Principal, Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys) informed that 50 AMU School Teachers are participating in the workshop which will conclude on June 27. He said that the teachers are being trained in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, hardware and software and use of internet and various Google tools. About 40 eminent resource persons will share their expertise with the participating teachers at the newly established hitch server based thin client solution computer laboratory in the school, he added.

Dr Naila Rashid, PGT, Psychology conducted the program.Prominent among those present on this occasion were Professor Umar Farooq, Deputy Director, DSE, Dr Arib Ali Khan, Dr Mohd Illyas and Principals of various AMU Schools.
