TISA Organizes Workshop in AMU

ALIGARH:After living with a severe stammer for a big portion of life and actually finding a way in which I can control it, is a dream come true, said ‘Trasnsfluence: The Indian Stammering Insititute’ (TISA), Facilitator Dr Sachin Shrivastav. He was in Aligarh Muslim University to inaugurate a three day ‘TISA Communication Workshop’ to help people give up stammer at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The workshop which started today at the Conference Hall of the Social Sciences Faculty had the coordinator of the AMU Disability Unit, Dr Abdul Hamid Fazili as the Chief Guest.
Dr Shrivastav further said that it is these workshops, which helped me to give up stammer. “I can assure, if people engage themselves in these workshops they will gain a way to achieve effortless speech,” said Dr Shrivastav.
“Usually people who stammer stay away from interacting with others to the point that they stop worrying about it. At this point, people who suffer with stammering have fear that wherever they want to go in life, it will take a lot of talking to people. These workshops are designed to help people fight their fear and eventually get rid of stammering,” added Dr Shrivastav.
“Stammerers tend to suffer in silence. Fear of ridicule or prejudice leads the majority of those who stammer to keep quiet. In these workshops, stammerers can stand up and be counted, and that’s exactly what needs to be done,” said the Chief Guest Dr Fazili while addressing the conference call replete of differently able students and scholars.
Students of Aligarh Muslim University’s disability Unit jointly conducted the Programme.
