Introduction cum Welcome Programme in Arts Faculty

ALIGARH.An Introduction cum Welcome Programme was organized in the Arts Faculty Lounge. Susan Strand, English Language Specialist will stay in the University for six weeks as a Visiting Faculty to help the Compulsory English teachers in Material production and Teachers training. This initiative is in continuation of the programme held in November 2013 on Designing Writing Objectives.

Miller, Regional English Language Officer, were welcomed by the
Chairperson, Prof Asif Shuja, Department of English on behalf of the
Department and Aligarh Muslim University. She gave her wishes for the
programme to be an enlightening experience.

Lt Gen (Retd) Zameeruddin Shah, Vice Chancellor, the Chief Guest of the
Programme, in his Presidential remarks, encouraged the teachers as well as
resource persons for a fruitful experience. He further emphasized on the
need of continuous lerning and evolving of the teachers. The Vice
Chancellor highlighted the need of spoken form of English language and its
present day importance. Ms Susan Strand appeared to be hopeful for the
programme and promised to extend all the help needed.

Ms Dianna Miller gave her best wishes and appreciated the efforts of the
Aligarh Muslim University and Department of English for appreciating such
projects.

Dr Rizwan Khan, Coordinator of the progarmme convened the programme and
gave a brief outline of the programme objectives and its expected outcome.

The Welcome programme was attended by Prof A R Kidwai, Director, UGC
Academic Staff College, Prof SN Zeba, Department of English and other
faculty members as well as the Compulsory English teachers, Research
Scholars and other students of the Department of English.
