Social Science Cyber Library, AMU sets National Record

Aligarh:The Social Science Cyber Library of Aligarh Muslim University has set a National Record in the Limca Books of Records for being the only library that
collects and updates daily the web based, e-resources in public domain available in the form of e-books, e-journals, in-house lectures, video lectures of eminent scholars, data bases and software pertaining to Social Sciences.   
Vijaya Ghose, Editor of Limca Book of Records, after a thorough enquiry, issued a certificate of National record to the Social Science Cyber Library recently.The ‘Cybrary’ provides access to the social scientists across the globe through a user friendly interface and is presently being accessed in 142 countries for research and scholarship so far.
Set up under the leadership of Prof Shabahat Husain, Chairperson, Department of Library and Information Science and the then Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, the Cybrary was inaugurated by Shri PranabMukherjee, the President of India, on 27thDecember, 2013.The Cybrary was awarded ISO9001:2008 certificate in 2015, and is registered in the ‘Directories of Open Access Repositories of UK’ called DOAR and ROAR.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran) also mentioned this achievement in his recent convocation address while Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (Veteran) described the achievement as a milestone and an exemplary achievement.
