Islamic University of Maldives Chancellor visits AMU

Aligarh:Dr Mohammad Shaheem Ali Saeed, Chancellor, Islamic University of Maldives today on a visit to Aligarh Muslim University, met the AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (Veteran) to discuss student exchange programmes in
between Islamic University of Maldives and Aligarh Muslim University.
During the meeting, the AMU Pro Vice Chancellor and Islamic University of Maldives Chancellor also discussed strengthening India-Maldives relations through student exchange programmes.After the meeting, Dr Shaheem visited the Maulana Azad library, where he was shown rare manuscripts and ancient scriptures along with the modern books, important research papers in different sections of the AMU Library.
Dr Shaheem also visited the Department of Islamic Studies and Research, where he interacted with students while seeing rare collections of Islamic Scriptures. During interaction with students and scholars, Dr Shameem urged them to study for serving the Ummah (Islamic Community) and the world in the best ways. He also replied to queries of students related with issues concerning the Muslim World.
On the occasion, Dr Shaheem also visited the Musa Dakri Museum, Professor K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Department of Sunni Theology, Kennedy Hall Auditorium and Bridge Course for Graduates of Deeni Madaris Centre. He was accompanied by AMU Public Relations Officer, Mr Omar Saleem Peerzada.
