Yet another case comes to AMU

Aligarh.Yet another case comes to Aligarh Muslim University’s (AMU) women cell, this time it was misbehavior with a senior professor. However, university says nothing happened with her.  Senior Professor of English Department, Dr Iffat Ara Bano was asked to prepare question paper of Master of Arts (MA) first year for annual examination.
As directed she prepared the question paper and went to submit the same to Dean of Arts Faculty, Prof. Suhail Ahmad on December 2.  As alleged, when she submitted the paper, Dean told her that paper was too tough and misbehaved with female professor on it. She felt embarrassed and filed complaint with registrar and women cell alleging shouting and misbehaving on the issue.  According to university sources, Prof. Ara had asked for apology from the Dean, Prof. Suhail Ahmad, who allegedly misbehaved with her. Only after that she would take back the complaint filed against him. Meanwhile, Aligarh Muslim University has clarified in a statement: “The matter related to Prof. Iffat Ara of Department of English has been investigated through the Chairperson of the Department of English who was present during the meeting. She has categorically denied that there is no evidence of any harassment, shouting or misbehave on the part of Dean, Faculty of Arts against the said teacher.”
