JNMC Blood bank starts Plateletpheresis Procedure

Aligarh:In yet another milestone reached by the Blood Bank of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Plateletpheresis Procedure was recently started for the first time to cure dengue patients admitted in the Medicine Ward.
So far, three patients have been treated with the process.
JNMC doctors have said that the process will increase the platelet count of dengue patients by 30 – 40 thousands.  “New machine for the procedure was purchased a few months back and with the permission from FDA, the Plateletpheresis procedure was started,” they pointed out.
The JNMC doctors further said that with the starting of the Plateletpheresis Procedure in the JNMC, there will be no need to refer dengue patients to other cities and hospitals for further treatments.
