AMU VC visits Bihar

ALIGARH:Urging the AMU alumni of Bihar to give their 3 Ts – Time, Talent and Treasure to their alma mater, the Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah said that the University has made remarkable progress during the last few years and the alumni should come forward to lend their support to the developmental activities.


The Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. Zameer Udin Shah was addressing at a gathering of AMU alumni organized by the AMU Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA), Bihar Chapter in Patna.

Lt. Gen. Shah said that an ambitious project for energy efficient solar farming has been undertaken by the University to achieve a green campus status. He said that the University has also started nanotechnology based farming which bears promises for future developments in agricultural field.

Referring to the recent controversy that took place at the AMU Kishanganj Centre, Bihar, Vice Chancellor said that an enquiry is being made in the incidents and no decision will be taken in haste. He said that members of AMUOBA should come forward to cooperate with the University to resolve the matter and ensure that the image of the University remains untainted.

Dr. Arshad S. Haque, General Secretary, AMUOBA organized an informal interactive session where the alumni were informed about the developments in the University campus.

Dr. Haque said that the Vice Chancellor was busy in improving the living conditions of the resident research scholars, restoring and renovating the historical buildings, opening new departments, motivating teaching staff to garner research projects and enhancing accommodation for the students.

Mrs. Sabiha Simi Shah, wife of the Vice Chancellor, along with the President of AMOUBA, Er. Amir Hasan, Mr. Justice Bilal Nazki, Chairman, Bihar Human Rights Commission, Mr. Md. Salam, Chairman, Minority Commission, Bihar, Mr. Nadim Seraj Advocate, Mr. Rafi Ahmad, Mr. Mosheer Alam, Mr. Piyush Nandan, Dr. F.I. Farooqui, Mr. Md. Sufyan, Mrs. Sarwat Nadim, Dr. Tarannum Fatima etc, was present on the occasion.
