Career Planning Centre celebrates ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’

Aligarh:Aligarh Muslim University’s Career Planning Centre recently celebrated the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’ in which at least 60 students of Women’s College, Abdullah Hall and Career Planning Centre participated to join hands with the global movement to end violence against women.


The event had a slogan writing competition on the themes of ‘Say no to violence against women’ and ‘glorifying womanhood’.

Ms Alina Siraj bagged the first prize while Ms Iqra Zamani and Ms Tanya Varshney received the second and third prizes respectively. Ms Iram Ayub, Ms Jyoti Motwani and Ms Snoy Rahi were given special prizes.

Prof Nigar Zuberi, Dr Humaira Afridi and Dr Swaleha Zubair judged the competition.

“Students enthusiastically participated and presented posters to express their views during the celebrations,” said Professor Naima K Gulrez, Director, Career Planning Centre.

Prof Gulrez appreciated the efforts of students for the successful conclusion of the event. Dr Rafat Mukhtar with staff members of the Career Planning Centre helped organize the programme.
