AMU cardiology staff to receive training at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute

ALIGARH :Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi for starting a Cath Lab and Cardiac Surgery Services at J. N. Medical College.


Padma Bhshan Dr. Ashok Seth, Chairman, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, in a letter, has signed the MoU pertaining to the mutually agreed programme.

Under the MoU, Doctors, Nursing Staff and Para Medical Staff of the JN Medical College will be sent to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi for a maximum period of three months for hands on training.

Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Principal and CMS, JN Medical College said that Cath Lab and Cardiac Surgery Services are being setup in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital under the PMSSY Phase-II programme. He pointed out that it would be a boon to the entire western UP zone if cardiology surgery services are started at JNMC, which fortunately has qualified Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons capable of providing cardiac services.
