Tibbiya College hosts second All India Quiz Competition

ALIGARH:Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College (AKTC), Aligarh Muslim University held the Second All India Quiz Competition jointly by Departments of Tashreehul Badan and Tashreeh wa Munafeul Aza. Thirty teams from different parts of the country, including Kolkata, Bhopal, Delhi, Kanpur, Muzaffar Nagar, Deoband, Pune, Jammu & Kahmir, participated in the event.

In his inaugural address, Prof Anees Ismail, Dean, Students’ Welfare, AMU urged the participants to achieve excellence in their fields. He said that Anatomy
and Physiology are the two important subjects, which are mandatory for success in medical field.
Prof. Iqtidarul Hasan Zaidi, Director of the quiz competition said that the aim of organizing this event is to develop the interest of the students in these two subjects. Dr. Ubaidullah, Organizing Chairman, thanked the guests and participants.
In preliminary session, six rounds were held while semifinals comprised two rounds.
Announcing the results, Dr. M. Nadeem Khan, Convener of the All India Quiz declared that the first prize consisting of a cash amount of Rs. 15,000/- went to the team of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, which comprised Mohd. Mudassir and Aftab Alam. The second prize winners were Anam Siraj and Afreen from Ayurvedic and Unani College, Delhi who got Rs. 10,000/- while the third prize of rs. 5,000/- went to Neha Khan and Sana Khalid from the same college. A consolation prize was also given to the team of Meher Fatima from AKTC.
Dr. Farooq Ahmad Dar, Organizing Secretary said that Hakeem Ifamullah Academy had contributed cash prizes of Rs, 10,000 for first runner up and 5000 for second runner up.
Dr B.D. Khan and Prof. F.S. Sherani conducted the programme whereas various rounds of the competition were conducted by Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan, Dr. Ammar Ibne Anwar, Dr. Sumbul Rehman, Dr. Azizur Rehman and Dr. Anas.
Prof. Qamar Akhtar Kazmi, Dr. Misbahuddin Siddiqui, Dr. Tafseer Ali, Dr. Suboohi Mustafa, Dr Saba Zaidia were present on the occasion.
