Wipro select 6 students of AMU Women’s Polytechnic

Aligarh:For the first time ever six students of University Women’s Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University have been selected in ‘Synergy’, a recruitment drive conducted by India’s leading multinational company Wipro Technologies. The drive was conducted at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.


Dr Salma Shaheen, Principal, University Women’s Polytechnic said that the selection of students by such reputed company adds to the confidence of the other students and mentioned that the students of University Women’s Polytechnic are equipped with diverse skills. She added that the faculty members are working hard to prepare the students even beyond the structured curriculum by encouraging industry interface through guest lectures, industrial visits and project work.

Mr Saad Hameed, Training and Placement Officer (General), AMU, while congratulating the selected students at a recently held meeting, informed that students selected under ‘Synergy’ would be employed by Wipro Technologies and would be provided an opportunity to undertake higher studies through BITS Pilani part-time courses along with their jobs. During higher studies students will be paid remuneration by Wipro Technologies on monthly basis to meet their fooding and  lodging expenses at the job site for five years and all expenses incurred on studies will be borne the company itself, he further informed.

Mr Jahangir Alam, faculty member and Training and Placement Officer, University Women’s Polytechnic said that in view of the economic gloom, Women’s Polytechnic has been paying special attention to placements for students with the regular organization of  Workshops and Seminars to help them with the recruitment process.
Mr Tariq Ahmed, TPC, University Women’s Polytechnic proposed the vote of thanks.The students expressed satisfaction over the placement and praised the efforts of the University administration.
