Three Deluxe Wards inaugurated at JNMC

ALIGARH:Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah today inaugurated three Deluxe Wards at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, which have been constructed with the financial assistance of AMU Saifi Educational Trust. Mr. Javed Saeed is its Managing Trustee.


AMU Chancellor Nawab Ibne Saeed Khan of Chhatari and Pro-Vice Chancellor Brig. S. Ahmad Ali were alsopresent on this occasion.

AMU Saifi Educational Trust was created on 18th February 1963 by the then Chancellor, Syedna Taher Saifuddin. Othe founding trustees include Yusuf Bhai Najmuddin, Dr. Zakir Husain, then Vice President of India, Nawab Ahmad Khan of Chhatari and then Vice Chancellor Col. B. H. Zaidi.

The Trust was created to fulfill the aim of granting financial aid to needy and deserving students of AMU, in order to pursue their studies in the University.

These Deluxe Wards were built to raise revenue to fulfill its aims on a sharing basis with JNMC. The project was conceived more than 12 years ago when Late Kunwar Ammar Khan was the Managing Trustee. The project has been materialized with the cooperation of JNMC through its Principal Prof. Tariq Mansoor and the University authorities.

The present Board of Trustees include President, Prof. A. R. Kidwai, former Governor of Haryana, Prof. S. Masjoodul Hasan, Retired Professor, Mr. A. R. Shervani , Mr. IMG Khan, Prof. Syed Absharul Hasan, Mr. Yunusur Rahman Kidwai and Mr. Javed Saeed, Managing Trustee.

The three Deluxe Wards are located at Orthopedic, Gynaechology and ENT wards with a special section for male patients of Plastic Surgery.

Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Principal and CMS welcomed the guests.
