AMU student to participate in National Games 2016

Aligarh: BA LLB (third year) student of Aligarh Muslim University, Mr Amaan Ali Shah brought laurels to Aligarh Muslim University yet again after qualifying for the National Games 2016 to participate in the Rifle Shooting event.This young shooter from AMU recently won the North Zone, Dr Karni Singh shooting Range at Tughlabad, New Delhi.He has also qualified to play for obtaining ‘National Rankings’ after winning the two events of ‘Small bore free Rifle (NR) Championship 50 M Men Individual’ at the senior and junior levels. He won the events with a score of 584 out of 600.

Mr Shah, who earlier won the UP State and Delhi State shooting Championships, has been training with Olympian coaches, Mr Jagbir Singh and Mr Karan Singh since September. He is likely to become the first AMU student to have ‘National Rankings’ in the sport.
