AMU Prof Khalique attends IAPSMCON-2016

Aligarh: Professor Najam Khalique, Chairman, Department of Community Medicine, JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University recently chaired two important scientific sessions on Communicable Diseases and Ford Foundation Epidemiological Research grant of IAPSM for young teachers of Community Medicine at the 43rd National Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSMCON-2016) held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.


The conference was inaugurated by Shri J P Nadda, Union Cabinet Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Jointly organized by the Department of Community Medicine, GMERS, Medical College, Gandhinagar and Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar, the conference had scientific sessions on the theme of ‘Towards Sustainable Development’.

During the conference, Prof Khalique also met with the Union minister Shri J P Nadda and WHO representative, Dr Henk Bekedam and expressed his views on various aspect of public health.

The conference was attended by more than 1700 delegates from all over the country and abroad, which included many prominent personalities from top Public Health organizations like World Health Organization and UNICEF.

Prof Khalique has earlier been awarded with the National Excellence Fellowship of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine in the 42nd Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine held at King George Medical University, Lucknow, by Uttar Pradesh Governor, Shri Ram Naik for his outstanding work in the field of Community Medicine.
