BSE Institute team visits AMU

ALIGARH:A three-member delegation from Bombay Stock Exchange Institute Limited visited the Aligarh Muslim University to discuss certain issues pertaining to trade, commerce and banking.


The meeting was presided over by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali said that those who are skilled but uneducated or those who are educated and unskilled can take the courses of the BSE Institute to make a good career in stock market and other corporate businesses. He said that we should design our professional courses as per the requirements of the industry and business.

Mr. Vinod Nair, Head, Academics and Product development, BSE Institute said that his organization had over 26 year experience in designing, developing and delivering learning for a variety of audience using a range of learning approaches. “We have a large number of certificate and short term programmes to suit the needs and requirements of the students interested in building career in this field”, he added.

It may be pointed out that the BSE Institute offers a number of short term and certificate programmes in Stock Market, Financial Modelling, Risk Management, Capital Market, Investment Banking, Islamic Finance and Capital Market, Foreign Exchange Risk management, Mutual Funds, Taxation etc.

It was decided in the meeting that an exchange programme will be mooted between AMU and the BSE Institute and some selected programmes will be run with mutual participation of the two. It was also decided that BSE Institute would provide study material to AMU and AMU teachers will go to BSE Institute, Mumbai to take its courses.

AMU and BSE Institute have also agreed to jointly organize an International Conference on Interest-Free Banking at Mumbai in the month of April 2016. Prof. Valeed Ansari, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, AMU will oversee the academic work while BSE Institute will provide hospitality, publicity and Industry coverage.

The three member BSE Institute team led by Mr. Vinod Nair, included Mr. Nadeem Alam, Head, International and Customised Programme and Mr. Shariq Nisar, Professor.

From AMU side, Prof. Valeed A. Ansari, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. M. Khalid Azam, former Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. M. Mohsin Khan, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Prof. S. M. Imamul Haque, Prof. Nisar A. Khan, Chairman, Department of Economics and Dr. Mohd. Tarique attended the discussion. AMU Registrar Dr. Asfar Ali Khan was also present on the occasion.
