ALIGARH:The Aligarh Muslim University students’ proud creation, the Formula Student Racing Car will be showcased at Asia's largest Motor Show, AUTO-EXPO 2016, which is going to be organized at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida from February 3-9, 2016. The students’ team from Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, which is behind this creation, will also be present at the HALL 2 Stall E9B,
The students’ formula creation, which was engineered under the supervision of faculty advisors Mr. Nafees Ahmad-II and Dr. Syed Fahad Anwar of Department of Mechanical Engineering in accordance with the Vice Chancellor’s vision 2017, has also been slated to participate in the International Formula Student UK Competition which will be held at Silverstone, London in July 2016.
The ZHCET Formula Racing team won the most popular car award at Coimbatore, Chennai in Formula Student India, a national level student formula design competition in which AMU team secured 19th overall rank out of 150 participants.
Faculty Advisor, Mr. Nafees Ahmad-II said that participation in an international competition will give the University a huge exposure enabling its students to interact with the top notch professionals of the Automotive Industry. He said that the event will bring better and promising placement opportunities to engineering students of AMU.
Mr. Ahmad said that the project would not have been possible without the active and constant support from University, College and Department administration. He also thanked pay tm, Sleepwell, Baker, Bombay Tools, Bazzaz, Epson, Labsol, PK Engg, SUMMT, Gedore, Prigma, Shalimar Corp, Carbon Light, Alumni Associations and University staff for their help and support.
