Dr Saira bags National Award at IAPSMCON 2016

Aligarh:Dr Saira Mehnaz, Department of Community Medicine recently won the ‘National Award’ for her research paper "Documenting catastrophic spending on health by migrant slum population" at the 43rd National Annual Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSMCON 2016) held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Dr Mehnaz, who has won the award in all age categories has earlier national awards in 2011 and 2012 in conferences at Berhampur, Orissa and Kochi, Kerala. She was also awarded Ford Foundation Epidemiological Research Grant in 2014.
Meanwhile, University Health Officer, Dr Ali Jafar Abedi of the Department of Community Medicine was honored with Best Oral Paper Award in food safety Category at the conference. He presented his research paper "Household food insecurity and its determinants in peri-urban area".
