Retired Professor Jani’s demise condoled

ALIGARH:At a condolence meeting held to mourn the sad demise of Professor M. Amir Jani, the Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, and other faculty members expressed a deep sense of sorrow and prayed for higher place for him in heavens.
Professor Mohammad Amir Jani, former Principal, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, served the University in various capacities including Member Incharge (Electricity) and Provost, Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall and Aftab Hall.

After completing M.Sc. Engineering, Prof. Jani was appointed as lecturer in early sixties and promoted as Reader in 1967 in the Department of Electrical Engineering. After getting a PhD degree in 1969 from Moscow, he served the University as Professor from 1975 to 1982 and later rose to become Principal of the College in 1984. He retired from University services in 1998.

Prof. Jani had been a dedicated, disciplined and honest person with great commitment towards his profession, which won him love and respect from all of his students, colleagues and friends.

In a condolence resolution, the staff members of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology have shared the grief of the bereaved family and prayed for higher place for Professor Mohammad Amir Jani and courage and fortitude to for his family to bear this irreparable loss.
