Dr Chaudhary’s book, ‘Hometech Industry in Global Market’ released

Aligarh:Dr Asiya Chaudhary, Associate Professor with the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University has recently authored a book on Indian textile industries entitled, ‘Hometech Industry in Global Market’. The book has been published by Discovery Publishing Pvt Ltd, New Delhi.

Elaborating the overwhelming presence of textile industries in the daily Indian live, Dr Chaudhary stated in the book that textile industry is not present only as a clothing application but also continuing a major outlook towards non-clothing application of textiles known as ‘Technical Textiles.’
In a chapter of the book, the author pointed out that ‘Technical Textile’ gives the benefits of durability, light weight, cost effectiveness, versatility and high strength in comparison of conventional materials, which is making it an important part of our day-to-day activities.
She stated in the book that the Hometech as an important segment of technical textiles has been vibrant for over a decade in India.The author explains that the Hometech is growing due to the real estate boom and higher spending on the home interiors.“The promotion of Home-tech segment of technical textile requires the setting up of centre of excellence for the home-tech products,” stated Dr Chaudhary pointing out that considering the availability of highly skilled and technical man power and abundant availability of raw material, India can emerge as a key player in the technical textile industry.
