Dr Inamuddin delivers lecture in ‘34th Annual Conference of Indian Council of Chemist’

Aligarh:Dr Inamuddin, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University recently delivered an invited talk in the Physical Chemistry Sections of ‘34th Annual Conference of Indian Council of Chemist’ held at the Department of Chemistry, UKS Tarsadia University, Bardoli, Surat. His lecture was on the topic of, ‘Applications of Ionomer as Smart Material.

In the lecture, Dr Inamuddin stated that materials are said to be smart when they respond to electrical stimulations with significant changes in size or shape. He also pointed out that due to similarities with biological muscles, ionomeric smart materials have been labeled ‘artificial muscles’, stimulating interest as biomimetic systems.
Dr Inamuddin, who is currently researching in the area of ‘polymeric materials for robots, an emerging class of smart materials’ has earlier received the ‘Best Oral Presentation of Conference Award’ in the ‘Global Opportunities for Latest Developments in Chemistry and Technology Conference’ in 2014.
