JNMC Assistant Professor to pursue two-year fellowship Queen Elizabeth Hospital, UK

Aligarh: Dr Mehtab Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of Radiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University will now pursue a two-years fellowship in Musculokskeletal and Cardiovascular imaging at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Hospital, an institute of International repute for quality of care, clinical training and research in Birmingham, UK.

Before pursing an academic career at the JNMC, Dr Ahmad worked as Registrar at the Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. Dr Alam did his MBBS and MD from JNMC.The fellowship was made possible by the special efforts of AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd); Professor Tariq Mansoor, Principal and CMS, JNMC and Dr Zergham Zia, Consultant Interventional Radiologist, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
Prof Mansoor confirmed that the JNMC and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham are also in the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for training consultants in various specialties of radio-diagnosis, trauma, intensive care and anesthesiology with other field.He stated that the MoU is expected to raise the level of expertise and care at JNMC.“We thank the AMU Vice Chancellor, General Shah and Dr Zergham Zia for taking keen and personal interest on the behalf of JNMC in the matter,” said Prof Mansoor adding that a team from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital will soon visit AMU.
