731 AMU students get jobs in 2015-16

Aligarh:At least 731 Students of different courses of Aligarh Muslim University have been successfully placed in reputed companies in the session 2015-16.AMU Training and Placement Officer (General) Mr Saad Hameed informed that 540 students had registered themselves for placements in the recently ended session but due to the hard efforts of the TPO (General) 731 students have secured placements in renowned companies which denote a success rate of 135 per cent.
He said that MNCs including those working in the field of software, media, manufacturing, marketing/ sales, legal, ITES, IT, Banking, Finance, Telecom, Education, NGO, Health and Nutrition visited the AMU campus during 2015-16 and picked up students offering the  maximum pay package of Rs 8 lakh per annum.

Mr Hameed informed that the placed students include those of BA, BCA, B Sc, B Com, MA, M Sc, M Com, MBA, MCA, Law, Engineering and Polytechnic. He said that in the session 2012-13 47 companies visited the AMU campus and 515 students were placed, the figures of which when compared with that of 2015-16, in which 70 companies visited and picked up 731 students, depict the enormous success of the TPO. Mr Hameed credited the success to the AMU VC Lt Gen Zameer uddin Shah (Retd.) and PVC Brig S Ahmad Ali (Retd.).

He further said that it is the first time that the students of Business Administration, Computer Science and Physical education have secured 100 per cent placements. At least 80 Students of different AMU centers have been selected by prestigious companies, Mr Hameed added.

He informed that the placement activities conducted in the session 2015-16 include Career Counseling workshops and Soft skills course at Women’s College, Entrepreneurship Development Camp, HR Meet-2015, Recrufest’16, Counseling workshop on jobs in govt. sector and career in civil services, etc.

On the occasion, Dr Rahat Abrar, Member-in-charge, Public Relations Office, AMU was also present.
