Dept of Geology, AMU to participate in 17th IIRS Outreach Course

Aligarh:The Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University is participating in the 17th satellite based Distance Learning Programme aimed at imparting instruction on the Geoweb Services and Geoportal Applications. The Outreach Course, conducted by IIRS, Dehradun is applicable in the fields of Internet, Water Resources information, Biodiversity and Bhuvan Panchayat Geoportal applications.
IIRS is running this programme in collaboration with the Consortium for Educational Communication, UGC, Space Application Centre Ahmadabad and Amrita E-Learning Research Lab under the aegis of the National Natural Resources Management System (NNRMS).

Professor Liaqat A K Rao, Chairperson, Department of Geology, AMU and Edusat Coordinator informed that the course will continue till July 15 as an interactive exercise consisting of daily lectures from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm.  He said that it is hoped that this course will provide basic essentials, motivation and encouragement to apply space technologies to our studies and research.
