AMU NSS Unit bags first prize in National Young Leaders Programme

Aligarh:Aligarh Muslim University National Service Scheme recently created history after winning the first prize in the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India’s ‘National Young Leaders Programme 2015-16.’
The award carries Rs 65,000/- as cash prize along with certificate of recognition.Speaking on the achievement, Dr Mohd Yameen, Programme Coordinator, NSS and Associate Professor with the Department of Commerce, AMU said that the prize is won on the hard work and dedication of NSS units in voluntary and other services in which AMU’s NSS Unit has performed with excellence.
He added that the AMU NSS Unit worked very hard in the yearly 120 hours of their service, which includes 100 hours of voluntary service.Dr Yameen said that the success of the NSS Unit has come as result of the AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah’s support and cooperation. “It would not have been possible without the support of AMU Administration,” further said Dr Yameen.
