‘World Hepatitis Day-2016’ observed at AK Tibbiya College

Aligarh:Professor Naeem Ahmad Khan, Department of Illmul Advia, Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU today delivered a lecture on ‘Multi-Component Therapeutics in Hepatic Disorder—Experiences and Reflections’ in a programme organised by the Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samajji Tib (Preventive and Social Medicine), Faculty of Unani Medicine to observe the ‘World Hepatitis Day-2016.’While delivering the lecture, Prof Khan presented detailed information of Hepatitis in general and Hepatitis B in particular and the role of Unani Medicine in the treatment.

During the lecture, Prof Khan also presented the broad outline of multidimensional benefits of “majun dabidul ward” in Hepatitis.Dr S M Safdar Ashraf, Chairperson, Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samajji Tib talked about problems which come with Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E. He further spoke on the strategies to reduce 10 million cases of Hepatitis to one million and number of deaths from 1.5 million to 0.5 million in the coming decade. 
Dr Ashraf informed that 400 million people all over the world suffering with Hepatitis and there is an increase of six to 10 million patients every year.Meanwhile, Ms Amreeb Zehra, an intern with the Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samajji Tib presented an introductory paper in the programme.Assistant Professor, Dr Abdul Aziz Khan conducted the programme.The lecture was attended by a large gathering of scholars, doctors, academics and scientists. The scholars, who attended the programme included Mr Naeem and Mr Kaleem while interns included Ms Maryam Zafar, Ms Sajida Huma and Mr Faisal Habib.
