ALIGARH:Professor Iqbal Hasan, 79, who retired from the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University in 1996, passed away here on last Saturday. He is survived by a son and three daughters. His son, Prof. Asif Hasan is attached with the Centre of Cardiology, J. N. Medical College, AMU while one of his daughter is in teaching job and the other two are practicing doctors abroad.Prof. Iqbal Hasan, who was known for his special interests in Shakespeare and Robert Bridges, served the University for a long period and held a revered position amongst his students.He was buried at University graveyard Minto E in the presence of a large number of University community members.
