AMU to organize International Seminar on Dimensions of Persian Language and Literature

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd) will preside the three-day ‘Annual International Seminar’ on ‘Dimensions of Persian Language and Literature available During Akbar’s Reign and the Safavi Period’ beginning from February 3, 2016. The Seminar will be organized by the Institute of Persian Research, AMU in collaboration with the Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi and National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi.
The inaugural of the seminar will take place at the Assembly Hall of Z H College of Engineering while the academic sessions will be held at the Faculty of Arts Lounge and Social Sciences Conference Room. Professor Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will be the Chief Guest. AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (retd) and Tehran University Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Ahmad Raza Khizri will be the Guests of Honour. Dr Ali Dehgahi, Cultural Counsellor, Iran Culture House, New Delhi will be the Special Guest.While Former Allahbad University Vice Chancellor, Prof Naimur Rahman Farooqi will inaugurate the programme, eminent historian from the Jawharlal Nehru University, Prof Harbans Mukhia will deliver the keynote address. Prof Ali Muezzini; Prof Mahdi Mahouzi, Head, Department of Persian, Rudahan University, Tehran; Prof Kulsoom Bashar Bashar from Bangladesh; Prof Zamira Ghaforora from Tajikistan; Prof Hafiz Mohd and Mr Tahir Ali will also participate in the three-day seminar.
