Road show organized to mark the World Cancer Day

ALIGARH :The Department of Radiotherapy, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a road side camp at Ramghat road to commemorate the World Cancer Day. The aim was to raise awareness about prevention and treatment of cancer amongst the general public and to develop practical strategies to address the cancer burden.


In accordance with the theme of this year ‘We Can, I Can’, it was emphasized that every individual could play an important role in reducing the global burden of cancer, which was continuously increasing.
Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Principal and CMS, JN Medical College, urged the youth to come forward and say no to tobacco and alcohol. They should show the world that ‘We can, I can’ involvement would make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Prof. Shahid Ali Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of Radiotherapy highlighted ways to prevent cancer and confirmed that there were trusted cure to different cancer variants.
Dr. U.S. Varshney, President, IMA, Aligarh branch, Dr. Praveen Garg, Treasurer, Aligarh IMA Branch and Dr. Sunil Mittal, President, Private Doctors Association also expressed their views on this occasion.

The common public took keen interest in the event and came forward in large numbers to sign an oath that they will not consume tobacco or alcohol in future.
Dr Akram, Dr Shadab, Dr Mohsin, Dr Masroor, Dr Samreen, Dr Nawed, Dr Farhan, Dr Ankit, Dr Badar, Dr Sabiha, Department of Radiotherapy, JN Medical College played important role in organizing the camp.
