JNMC to establish Low Vision Centre

Aligarh:"The Aligarh Muslim University will soon establish a Low Vision Centre at the Institute of Ophthalmology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), AMU.

While addressing a workshop on ‘Low Vision Aid’, organized by Dr Abdul Warris, Assistant Professor, Institute of Ophthalmology, for the trainees in the Ophthalmic Assistant course and MS students, Professor Tariq Mansoor, Principal and CMS, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) said that all possible help and fund for the Centre have been taken care of.
Prof Saiyed Nasir Askari, Incharge, Retina Section, Institute of Opthalmology said that the establishment of the Centre will be a land mark as there is no such centre for low vision patients in Uttar Pradesh.Prof Jamal Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Medicine said that a Centre in AMU to treat patients of low vision would bring in a lot of hope for people suffering low vision problems.
Prof M Ashraf took the responsibility for establishing the Centre in JNMC, while USA based Dr Rajiv Prasad promised to help in establishing the Centre.JNMC students Visarat, Anam and Radhika conducted the programme.The programme was held at the Annexe, Eye Department, JNMC.
