AMU Alumni of UAE to build Sheikh Zayad Complex at AMU

ALIGARH: “The AMU Alumni Forum, United Arab Emirates (UAE) will build a grand Sheikh Zayad Complex at the Aligarh Muslim University with a fund of Rs. 30 crore which is expected to be received from the President of UAE, H.H. Khalifa Bin Zayad Al Nahayan”, said Mr. S. M. Qutbur Rahman, President of the AMU Alumni Forum, UAE while welcoming guests to a grand International Mushaira organized by the Forum in Dubai recently.
Mr. Qutbur Rahman informed that Sheikh Zayad Complex, which will be named after the founder of UAE Late Sheikh Zayad Bin Sultan Al Nahayan, will be a mega project having a 1000-bed residential Hall with the state-of-art international level facilities like a sports complex, mosque, dining hall and library.

Mr. Qutbur Rahman said that the project which is “an extension of our efforts to strengthen our Alma Mater” is soon going to become a reality. He pointed out that management of Rs. 10 crore fund for the AMU from Dr. M.A. Yusuf Ali, Chairman, Lulu Group was also a part of this series. He urged the Aligarians to come forward to give back the society and be united for AMU.

A PowerPoint Presentation of Sheikh Zayed Complex was also made to explain the architectural plan drawn by Er. Mohammad Haris, an IITian, who also happens to be the Treasurer of AMU Alumni Forum, UAE.

Prof. Talat Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islami graced the Mushaira as Chief Guest while Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Saiyed, National President, AICC Minority Department, Er. Mohammad Aslam Alig, President Human Chain, New Delhi were the guests of honor. Mr. Syed Mohammad Talha, President, Human Chain (Delhi Chapter) and Gauhar Ali Khan, an entrepreneur and politician from Badaun were also present on this occasion.
