Dept of Neurosurgery reaches milestone with successful brain hemorrhage surgery

Aligarh:The Department of Neurosurgery, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JMC), Aligarh Muslim University reached a new milestone after 75-year-old, Mrs Asghari khatoon of Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh suffering with a brain hemorrhage from a large abnormal blood vessel was successfully treated by a team of surgeons headed by Dr MF Huda, Head, Department of Neurosurgery.

Mrs Khatoon was admitted in the ICU with a critically ill condition, diagnosed with highly fatal and risky, Giant Middle cerebral artery Aneurysm.  Dr Huda with his team of surgeons, which included Dr S Asmat Ali, who had recently joined JNMC from G B Pant hospital, New Delhi and and Dr Raman with anesthetist team support under Dr Moeid and Dr Asad conducted a successful clipping of the patient’s aneurysm under special OT condition.
Dr Huda confirmed that the patient is doing well and has been discharged. He further said that with the successful surgery, JNMC has become the third medical college in Uttar Pradesh with this facility.   He added that the risky neurovascular surgery requires finest hands and good Anesthetist support.He also said that most of the patients with the condition of Mrs Khatoon usually expire before diagnosis or are referred to hospitals in Delhi. Meanwhile, Prof Tariq Mansoor, Principal JNMC congratulated the Department of Neurosurgery for this endeavor and assured for continuous support for future success.
