The Deans’ Committee, under the chairmanship of DSW, Prof. Anees Ismail, today met the agitated research scholars and interacted with them to ascertain their grievances. The committee assured them that they will be allowed to remain in University hostels until 29th June 2016 during the summer vacations. It was also decided that a separate Summer Hostel will be established for female research scholars.
The Committee however made it clear that luggage and personal belongings of the research scholars will be kept centrally at a place designated by the concerned Provosts when they vacate their hostels. The issue regarding extension of the duration of stay in the Hostel for PhD scholars beyond three years will be brought up in the next meeting of the Academic Council.
