Institute of Ophthalmology inaugurates upgraded facilities

Aligarh:The Institute of Ophthalmology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University recently inaugurated ‘upgraded facilities’ at the Annexe of Institute of Ophthalmology.
Speaking on the occasion, the AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd) assured better facilities for the Institute of Ophthalmology and other university institutes and departments. He said that the doctors associated with the Institute of Ophthalmology perform very well despite a lot of work pressure. He further affirmed that JNMC doctors and surgeons understand the importance of patient care and this is the driving force in excellent performances.

Professor Tariq Mansoor, Principal, JNMC said that the Institute of Ophthalmology has always enjoyed a reputation of premier institute and its surgeons and doctors are recognized as stalwarts throughout the country and abroad.

Prof Mansoor expressed happiness with the installation of upgraded facilities and added that soon more space will be provided to the Institute of Ophthalmology.

Prof Jamal Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Medicine said that upgradation is the need of the day and there is a special focus on research and projects in the Institute of Ophthalmology.

Prof Humayun Ashraf, Director, Institute of Ophthalmology said that the Super Speciality Clinic in JNMC with a special emphasis on Retina Clinic has been developed keeping in mind that there should be an affordable treatment of Retina disorder in JNMC for the poor people.

He added that JNMC has a team of very good retinal surgeons which makes it prominent amongst other such institutes of Uttar Pradesh.

Prof Asfar Ali Khan, Registrar; Prof S M Jawed Akhtar, Finance Officer; Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Proctor; Prof Parvez Qamar Rizvi, MIC, Land and Garden; Prof Jamal Ahmad Khan, OSD Development and Prof Anwar Khursheed, University Engineer were also present on the occasion.

Dr Aiman conducted the programme while Prof R R Sukul delivered the vote of thanks.
